    • Facilitate and complete month/year end close, including scheduling and preparation of monthly and year-end journal entries. Coordinate month and year end close with other finance or non-finance staff to ensure timely completion based on prescribed deadlines
    • Record, classify and post details of business transactions in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
    • Support the Finance Manager on department projects and directing the other Finance department staff, including coordinating and reviewing work
    • Record, classify and post details of business transactions in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
    • Responsible for reviewing and/or preparing of assigned journal entries for month end close
    • Prepare and/ or review significant account reconciliations and analysis, including balance sheet and income statement schedules, and evaluate transactions recorded for conformance to generally accepted accounting principles, identify and remediate reconciling items
    • Performs and/or reviews monthly/quarterly/annual reconciliations with subsidiary/affiliated entities and third parties for settlement of balances
    • Performs and/or reviews monthly/quarterly/annual allocation of expense including CAM charges amongst entities
    • Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and other statements) and supporting schedules and ongoing ad-hoc reports as necessary to support the Finance department and other business functions--
    • Identify accounting issues, handle advanced accounting research and advise staff on proper accounting practices
    • Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate complex accounting projects, perform special financial and business analytical tasks as assigned
    • Conduct review of the work of accounting staff on day to day accounting activities
    • Work with other support functions to obtain necessary information to prepare, analyze and input transactions related to assets, liabilities, revenue and expense to the general ledger
    • Prepare or review actual vs budget reports after month-end close
    • Assist with the preparation of board package, including write-up of balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and budget variances
    • Prepare regulatory filings within due dates
    • Assist with the coordination and completion of annual financial statement and compliance audits
    • Assist with the compilation of information necessary for the preparation of the organizations Form 990
    • Participate in developing budgets for assigned accounts; and work with the VP of Finance in preparation of annual operating budgets
    • Identify areas of process improvement within finance/accounting that contribute to efficient and effective workflows and work with finance staff to design and implement
    • Assist with the review and development of the Funds current internal control structure within finance
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications related to accounting standards; etc.
    • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential
    • Plans, analyzes, and evaluates programs and services, operational needs, and fiscal constraints
    • Supervises, leads, and delegates work and coaches, mentors, develops employees
    • Analyzes problems, identifies and develops alternative solutions, projects consequences of proposed actions, and implements recommendation/solutions
    • Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
    • Assists with developing and coordinating policies and procedures
    • Responsible for the oversight of continued employee training requirements, safety and quality initiatives
    • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job
    • Performs Essential Job Functions and Duties with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS--Years of Experience and Knowledge
      • 3 - 5 years of direct accounting work experience minimum
      • Audit experience, preferably from a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm preferred
      • 3+ years of progressive work experience in accounting
      • Healthcare industry experience, preferably with Health Plans and Clinics desired --Education, Licenses, and Certifications
        • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field or equivalent work experience requiredSkills and Abilities
          • Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
          • Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
          • Intermediate knowledge of accounting theory, principles (GAAP), and industry practices
          • Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex annual financial reports and projections
          • Ability to independently research, analyze, evaluate, and solve complex financial and operational transactions
          • Excellent analytical, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, accurate with numbers and detail oriented
          • Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and busy work environment
          • Good communication and problem-solving skills
          • Ability to exercise accurate professional judgment
          • Ability to work well with employees, clients and vendors
          • Independent, fast learner and adaptable attitude
          • Must be a team player
          • Must possess a high level of computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Accounting Systems, Access, etc.) advanced level of Excel is preferred
          • Knowledge of a range of automated financial systems and applications software such as SAGE Intaact (general ledger), Adaptive, AP workflow, Expense Reimbursement, etc.Physical Requirements:
            • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 10 pounds), bend, etc., hand and wrist dexterity to utilize computer
            • May require travel to sites/programs and special functions
