The FP Market Solutions Representative is a key member of the Specialty Benefits Growth team and serves as an integral resource for driving FP growth activities across all segments of our commercial business within three critical focus areas:

Products
FP product SME (Life, Disability, Absence Management and Supplemental Health plans), product training and development support, marketplace intelligence and value proposition integration
Administration - new case installation/EDI, contracts, billing and plan adds/changes, enrollment/fulfillment, inforce customer support/retention
Customer/Member experience - claim/absence management experience and execution, new service/TPA offerings, OE support

This leader must collaborate across a diverse group of stakeholders to foster alignment and promote a working environment consistent with Our United Culture and the Team of Teams framework - Common Purpose, Trust, Shared Consciousness, and Empowered Execution.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Plan, prioritize and help execute product initiatives according to FP business roadmaps and timelines, with a focus on the support of business growth teams
  • Establish and cultivate strategic business relationships with sales and account management leadership, operations leadership and staff. Provide product education and FP solution-support to the field; in groups, one-on-one, in person, over the phone and/or in writing
  • Maintain process, evaluate and coordinate field requests for Senior FP leaders. Provide direct support on specific cases, including client visits, client calls, finalist meetings and annual reviews
  • Develop and execute annual field training calendar in conjunction with Training and Development team
  • Develop and implement competitive differentiation strategies to drive growth and retention
  • Understand the needs of consumers, employers and providers, developing and implementing sales tools and strategies to meet or exceed those needs. Collaborate with the marketing team, providing content and SME review for external marketing collateral
  • Provide Request for Proposal (RFP) responses for assigned knowledge areas
  • Represent the "voice of the field" with the product team and FP senior leadership, suggesting new plan designs and product options
  • Work collaboratively with FP leaders and cross-functional partners including, but not limited to: sales, account management, marketing, clinical, operations, legal, underwriting etc.
  • Serve as FP resource for key client meetings and training; presenting product solutions in person or over the phone
  • Collaborate with product leaders in the development of new products and the enhancement of current products and offerings. Provide specific market data and intelligence back to the product organization accordingly
  • Demonstrate solid leadership qualities and organizational skills to maximize sales force effectiveness

    Required Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • 8+ years of specialty benefits or employee benefits sales, product development or marketing experience in a large, complex and successful ancillary insurance organization with responsibilities for financial protection products
    • Proven experience with coordinating and executing product and sales training
    • Proven experience managing and influencing effectively in a large, matrix-oriented environment
    • Cross-functional experience in working collaboratively with clinical operations, IT, sales, marketing, legal, finance, actuarial, underwriting, human capital, etc.
    • Proficient MSOffice skills, PowerPoint and Excel

      • Advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions for complex opportunities
      • Excellent presentation skills with the expertise and sophistication needed to credibly represent the Company, our values, culture and quality commitments

        Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
