Job Description:
Position will be responsible for analyzing behavior trends that
could lead to potential damages by performing quality audits,
ride-alongs, and effectively communicating their findings to
management personnel. The findings of persons in this position will
be used by management to help recommend remedial measures to
further enhance locate accuracy and documentation and proactively
prevent damages to customer facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Auditor will be responsible for performing the following
duties:
- Taking proactive measures to prevent damages
- Verifying accuracy of locates and adherence to company and
customer requirements by conducting field audits of work
performed
- Review ticket responses in ticket management software for
accuracy and proper documentation
- Double checking high profile locates
- Verifying the quality of difficult and large project
locates
- Performing targeted, risk-based and other audits as requested
by manager or customer
- Respond/review failed audits and be able to identify root cause
of failed audits
- Document audits and observations and effectively communicate
with management and operations regarding audit findings
- Interact with customers and the public in various
environments
- Perform comprehensive damage investigations
- Ride and train/mentor locators in the field and in classroom
environments
- Assist in Safety/tailgate meetings
- Maintain valid Operator Qualifications
- Perform high quality locates
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of one year of locating experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Clean background check for access to restricted and/or
controlled areas.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug
free
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her
actions
- Dependable and trustworthy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to look beyond the standard solutions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to locate all types of utilities and troubleshoot
issues properly
- Ability to train new locators as well as retrain existing staff
REQUIREMENTS
- May require weekend and holiday work when necessary
- Some travel may be required including overnight stays and out
of town assignments
- Ability to speak in front of a variety of field and office
personnel, as well as customer representatives and members of the
public regarding damage prevention issues and effectively represent
the company
- Specialized skills training/certification may be required
- Ability to read and understand technical documents
- Thorough understanding of locate equipment and tools
- Thorough understanding of elements contained in NULCA
standards, company procedures, state one call laws, and CGA best
practices
- General knowledge of computers and programs
(Excel/Word/TCor/Locsys)
- Experience and knowledge of the QC and OQ processes in place by
Customer
- Ability to walk all types of terrain (grass, ditches, wooded
areas, gravel, etc.) in and around construction zones and
residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas in all types of
weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, heat, etc.) WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds in a physical
environment
- Ability to stand and walk for periods of time up and exceeding
60 minutes
- Regular exposure to factors such as temperatures extremes and
variety of terrains
