Job Description:

One Nevada Credit Union is looking for a Senior Vice President of Marketing to join its phenomenal marketing team! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Planning 20%

  • Develops and implements effective marketing programs to attain overall Credit Union goals;
  • Develops short and long-term goals, objectives, and strategies for marketing to support growth and income objectives;
  • Develops and implements annual marketing plan and budget; and
  • Participates in the development of Credit Union strategic plans and objectives. Promotion 20%
    • Develops, leads, and directs all promotional efforts and coordinates promotional activities with other divisions as appropriate;
    • Develops effective marketing tactics and processes;
    • Retains and directs outside advertising agencies, vendors, and media buyers as appropriate;
    • Develops regular and specialized Credit Union publications, including newsletters, annual reports, and brochures, magazines, websites, social media sites, and marketing collateral;
    • Oversees and ensures the timeliness of press releases to local and national publications for Credit Union recognition;
    • Manages and actively participates in public relations functions and strategizes and supports Northern and Southern Nevada community relations efforts.
    • Analyzes and reports on the effectiveness of ad-spend;
    • Controls costs and adds flexibility through the effective use of electronic methods such as email, social media, multi-channel marketing, and digital;
    • Assures compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
    • Communicates marketing promotions and offers throughout the Credit Union;
    • Serves as Credit Union spokesperson to the media when the CEO is unavailable; and
    • Monitors and responds to social media reviews and provides appropriate comments. Executive Management 20%
      • Reviews and identifies cost-effective and efficient utilization of Credit Union resources in the marketing function;
      • Serves as a member of the Executive Management Team, providing leadership and direction for the Credit Union operations;
      • Communicates with Executive Management on marketing-related issues, keeping them informed regarding potential opportunities;
      • Develops and presents marketing opportunities to Executive Management that will increase growth among targeted products and lines of business;
      • Attends and actively participates in staff meetings, Board of Directors' meetings, and strategic planning sessions;
      • Formulates plans and policies affecting the overall operation of the Credit Union as a member of the Executive Management Team; and
      • Serves and provides substantive input on various executive and steering committees. Research 20%
        • Ensures meaningful and frequent market research is performed;
        • Analyzes consumer product preferences and behavior for select target markets and recommends marketing strategies; and
        • Analyzes and reports on local and national competitive pricing and consumer behavior. Sales and Services 10%
          • Represents the Credit Union at various internal and external functions; and
          • Supports mobile, digital and new product development teams. Department Management 10%
            • Establishes goals and work plans for department and monitors progress;
            • Recruits, selects, trains, motivates, disciplines, schedules, and evaluates reporting staff; and
            • Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
              • Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of modern sales, social media, digital marketing, and marketing management;
              • Thorough knowledge of modern management techniques and practices;
              • Knowledge of the operation and use of digital marketing, publishing, and research systems;
              • Skill in the knowledge of CRM/MCIF systems, social and digital media, and SEO/PPC strategies;
              • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations pertinent to the financial services industry;
              • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
              • Ability to analyze problems and situations and recommend solutions;
              • Ability to direct and prioritize a variety of marketing functions simultaneously;
              • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives, and work plans;
              • Ability to supervise and direct the work of employees;
              • Ability to maintain regularly scheduled attendance;
              • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of Directors, regulators, members, employees, and other parties; and
              • Must be able to relate appropriately to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instruction, and communicating with others; and (c) respond appropriately to constructive feedback from a supervisor. Education AND Experience A bachelor's degree in marketing or a closely related field and eight years of progressively responsible marketing management, including four years of senior management experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
