You'll be a technical leader and an authority in network performance for a large geographic area, proactively identifying new ways to improve speed and quality, and helping to resolve our most complex problems. We've got a growing customer base using more devices every day, and their expectations are high-you'll play a key role in making sure they're never disappointed.The engineer is ideally located within the footprint of existing Verizon Ericsson markets. This Centralized Service Performance team focuses on designing and delivering the correct features with high quality to the Ericsson markets through the planning and FOA processes - In doing so we interface with multiple centralized organizations, including planning to ensure the right feature set is delivered, Maintenance Engineering to ensure the FOAs are passed with high quality, Ericsson FOA team to ensure feature alignment, and the Centralized post-GA team to support field activities. We are the SP team leading the FOAs of C-Band, Nationwide 5G, mmW 5G, and LTE for Ericsson.Technical RAN leadership for HQ service performance activities in Ericsson markets as it relates to KPI's and features of current and upcoming 4G and 5G releases.Drive the vendor to complete test case execution in a timely manner.Responsible for NS Tool Delivery (ART PO) during FOA for new and existing RAN features.Responsible for KPI creation/targets for all voice and data services.Evaluate and optimize new vendor software loads and features as well as revise previous efforts to align to changes in network.Support 5G-NR software and feature deployment as well as assist in local performance optimization practices.Collaborate with SON teams for inclusion of best optimization practices into SON for national deployment.Collaborate with Maintenance Engineering to provide market configuration for FOA, review of validation test plans and test results, test feature interactions with legacy devices and determine feature readiness/worthiness for GA.Ensure 4G and 5G networks maintain performance superiority, reliability, and meet or exceed company KPIs.Interact with RAN vendors, Network Planning, Device Technology, Territory, and Regional Teams to provide feedback on feature definitions as they relate to the RAN and device roadmaps.Collaborate with Device Performance Team, Regional Teams, and Market System Performance on device issues and performance optimization trials.Educate sub-markets on upcoming 4G/5G RAN features and functionality.What we're looking for...You'll need to have:Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.Six or more years of relevant work experience.Experience in Ericsson 4G and 5G RAN performance featuresWillingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.Even better if you have:A degree in Electrical Engineering or technical field.Knowledge of standards (3GPP).Strong presentation and verbal skills.Device Requirements.RAN OEM feature details.RAN field test experience.Ability to interact and present at all organization levels (entry level engineer to Fellow for individual contributors and Manager to CNO on leadership team).Ability to use test collection tools (QXDM, DMAT, etc.), network performance tools (xLPT, NCWS, RTT, 5GPT etc.), and communicate through the following methods: network advisory, network directive, and slideware on best practices or field training material.Existing strong relationships with the following organizations: Maint Engineering, Planning, Centralized Service Performance, Device Technology, and Network Implementation.Background/aptitude for automation and proactively looking for process improvement opportunities.Out of the box thinking and problem solving.CompensationOur benefits are designed to help you move forward in your career, and in areas of your life outside of Verizon. For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.If you are hired into a Colorado or Nevada work location, the compensation range for this position is between $107,000 and $199,000 -based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. - This is an incentive -based position with the potential to earn more.
