Description:
We are developing a new and broad portfolio of SaaS solutions that enable our customers to harness the power of their data in new and interesting ways. In support of that mission, we are searching for a new DevOps Engineer to support a Kubernetes specific SaaS offering (Astra Control Service). We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who get things done, to join our team and help deliver these amazing capabilities to market.As a DevOps Engineer, you'll support an Engineering team and together build a customer-facing cloud service (SaaS) ensuring overall availability, performance and security.This position can be REMOTE with RTP (NC) as preferred location.Job SummaryYou love being a self-starter and identifying weak points in application infrastructure and driving issues to resolution.You will administer our cloud-based Kubernetes development environments used in testing and running the pre-prod SaaS service. You'll secure our pre-prod environment from security threats by deploying patches and least-privilege configurations. You will continuously measure the availability, latency and overall Application health, using tools like Grafana, Elasticsearch and Kibana. You are expected to own/support the Kibana Log analysis of pre-prod environments - and deep level understanding of ELK or similar logging stacks for Kubernetes, including the ability to create functional dashboards for Application analysis and Application KPI trending. You will document your findings around how support and issue trends, and dashboard/log analysis methods with developers and other support teams.You have experience in testing and automating with REST based API interfaces. This will be important for automating set up and management of demo environments to support a variety of stakeholders. You'll look for opportunities to automate the recovery for incidents that we cannot prevent in advance. You will use Atlassian Jira to track issues to resolution based on their priority. You will interface with the broader DevOps and SRE teams to further improvements to our SaaS offering. You'll work deeply in multiple cloud environments - AWS, GCP, Azure.Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 5 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience.

Requirements:Generally curious and highly motivated with a passion for ensuring scalable, performant and highly available solutions. You are great at and love debugging and solving technical problems throughout a technology stack. Strong experience with Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker. The ability to write scripts or code and understanding of a least one of the following: Bash, Python, or Go. A basic understanding of public cloud vendors such as AWS, Azure, GCP or others. Ideally you have experience with NoSQL databases.
