Job Description:
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple
western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint
Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4
develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training
environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft,
weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's
global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY
-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Operations and maintenance technician is responsible for plans and
to carry out difficult and complex assignments. Utilizing efficient
approaches and procedures; the technician provides technical
expertise on a wide range and variety of complex network issues;
conducts analysis and recommends resolution of complex network
issues impacting customer; evaluates and recommends adoption of new
or enhanced approaches to delivering voice and data products, tests
and optimizes the functionality of systems, networks and data;
identifies and defines business or technical requirements applied
to the design, development, implementation, management and support
of customer resources; Troubleshoots complex network issues and
conducts various research and analysis regarding new technology,
network traffic, potential security risk, etc.
Perform Network Administration services in accordance with customer
expectations.
Perform configuration, installation, monitoring, maintenance and
diagnostics on all network devices utilized to provide Voice,
Video, Data, VTC capabilities; including Traditional telephony,
VoIP, routers, switches, firewalls, DoD Type 1 encryption devices,
etc...
Install and maintain network cabling in accordance with industry
and local guidance/standards.
Perform system administration tasks for network support hardware,
such as backups, recovery, server maintenance.
Develop requested documentation such as topologies, maintenance
manuals, test plans, implementation plans, cost analysis, etc.
DESIRED SKILLS Highly dedicated professional with broad spectrum of
experience with the Network Administration/Technician career field.
Must possess a solid understanding of the intricacies within the IT
infrastructure. Skilled in identifying and executing problem
resolution related to network infrastructure systems. Must possess
or actively pursue proficiencies in the IT technologies used to
provide the transmission of Voice, Video and Data across the
communications infrastructure; including but not limited to
switches, routers, transmission media and various technologies. The
ideal candidate will possess at a minimum, the following:
Ability to successfully perform duties at a high level with minimal
supervision
Ability to implement, maintain and troubleshoot telecommunication
networking systems
Working knowledge and experience with routing and switching across
a layer 2/3 network
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking principles
Proficiency with various tools and test equipment; Must be able to
use test equipment/tools to quickly repair physical and logical
network outage and anomalies
Experience with Cisco network routers and switches; examples: 3850,
6500, ISR/ASR, 9xxx series
Experience with Network Monitoring tools, ticketing systems,
logging servers; Solarwinds preferred
Experience with DoD Type 1 Network Encryptors
Experience with Firewalls; Palo Alto, Fortinet, Forcepoint,
etc..
Experience with AVAYA or similar voice system a plus DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
DoD 8570
CCNP (or 8 years on the job experience)

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual
hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and
use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while
writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of
speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental
alertness are required. Travel to remote company work locations may
be required. REQUIREMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK
EXPERIENCE An associate's degree in engineering or other technical
discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a
minimum of 7 years of technical/professional experience in the
specialty field are required for this position. In addition, a
Network Engineer (Field Engineer II) must possess the following
qualifications:
Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and
principles and familiarity with related engineering fields
Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to
perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to
prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or
test equipment work instructions
Effective verbal and written communication skills
