Responsibilities Basic PurposeProvides comprehensive engineering
design services for substation facilities, and ensures the
facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed
resource allocations. Leads functional teams and provides technical
oversight in performing all phases of projects. Assists with
internal training for engineers and technicians. Works closely with
managers and principal engineers on higher-level projects, and in
recommending and implementing changes that benefit the company.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops economical,
technically feasible, reliable substation physical and control
designs with no supervision and guidance. Provides technical
management of multiple substation projects and prioritization of
work, working collaboratively with outside consulting firms and
internal stakeholders. Ensures quality control on assigned projects
by providing construction support as needed, including coordination
with construction forces and job site inspections. Provides
coordination and communication with other departments in completing
procurement tasks on projects with no supervision or guidance.
Assists and guides other departments in the solution of
non-standard substation design problems. Provides accurate cost
estimates for use in company budgeting procedures such that cash
flow requirements are identified. Provides input for development of
detailed project schedules and update project management system to
reflect the status of projects assigned. Ensures all compliance
aspects of position are known and followed; understands and
complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to
position and company. Performs related duties as
assigned.Requirements Essential Education, Skills, and
EnvironmentEducation and Work ExperienceBachelor's degree from
accredited school in electrical engineering and 8 years industry
experience as a practicing engineer and must be a licensed PE. If
no PE license, must have 10+ years as a practicing engineer.
Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:
Substation/control engineering principals and knowledge of other
phases of engineering. Areas of cost control, budgets, finance, and
accounting with technical experiences in cost analysis. Skills such
as: Analytical, interpersonal and communication with company
personnel, customers, and regulatory agencies. Multi-tasking's,
leadership, research, analysis, project management, problem-solving
and decision-making. Equipment and ApplicationsPCs, word
processing, spreadsheet and database software. Work Environment and
Physical DemandsGeneral office environment with some field work for
supervision.Compensation Annual Salary: $108,300 (Min) to $127,400
(Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at
the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented
