FLSA Status: Salary; ExemptHours per week: Full-Time; 40 hoursSalary Range: $50,000 -$65,000Job Summary: As a member of the advocacy leadership team, the Director oversees case management and advocacy services at the Shelter Program. Providing daily supervision of shelter advocates and support volunteers is an essential element of this role. Utilizing a trauma-informed lens, the Director maintains a safe and healing environment that empowers domestic violence victims and their children. The Director ensures clients receive vital services, assistance, and resources while residing in the shelter, hotel, and scattered-sites.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster an atmosphere of support and safety for residents, staff, and volunteers, including de-escalating potentially violent situations and responding to client grievances. Ensure issues within the shelter are addressed in a timely, direct, and respectful manner.
    • Ensure services delivered within the shelter are trauma-informed and survivor-centered, focused on empowerment.
      • Provide direct case management (goal setting, safety planning, crisis intervention, supportive services, etc.).
        • Determine work assignments and schedules to meet the needs of the 24-hour facility most effectively.
          • Coaches, supervises, and evaluates all program staff, and institutes corrective action whenever necessary.
            • Ensure all intakes, progress notes, and/or departures are completed in a timely manner. Client files/electronic records are maintained in accordance with legal and licensing requirements.
              • Submit timely reports. Review client records, daily logs, weekly goal plans, and progress to ensure program records and documentation are maintained as required.
                • Facilitate case reviews, support team and shelter meetings, and/or support groups.
                  • Work cooperatively with other programs, departments, and agencies to meet resident needs. Participate inSafeNest outcomes meetings to develop agency-wide goals and systems. Participate in internal and external meetings training as required.
                    • Provide necessary staff support through regular meetings. Identify training and workshops to enhance staff skills in domestic violence and intersecting issues (sexual violence, homelessness/ housing, immigration, substance abuse, mental health, disability, cultural competency, et c.).
                      • Ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to within the shelter.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position.                         • Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, behavioral sciences, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience; 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity required; equivalent combination of education/training/experience will be considered.
                          • Experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma or other victims in a residential setting preferred.
                            • Strong skills and experience with program outcomes, evaluation, and grants compliance (including data collection, methods, analysis, and reporting).
                              • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills (communicating effectively, tactfully, and patiently to diverse audiences, including but not limited to: Victims in Crisis, Judges, and Law enforcement).
                                • Strong problem-solving abilities, strategic and critical thinking, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
                                  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor with the ability to build rapport and garner trust with others.
                                  • Ability to consistently demonstrate empathy, compassion, and care.
                                  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
