Job Locations US-NV-Las Vegas - US-NV-Carson City Specialty Pharmacy Type Full-Time (30+ hrs/wk) Overview Responsible for clinical pharmacy services and retail pharmacy operations, including multiple in- house and 340B contract pharmacies and in-house provider dispensaries. Oversees the purchasing and utilizations of pharmaceuticals for the organization and ensures the security of in-house pharmacy facilities. Ensures safety, quality and compliance for all pharmacy programs. Supports the mission of the organization; ensures the utilization and optimization of available programs and grants to help eligible patients access affordable medications and clinical pharmacy services. Responsible for pharmacy service line budget and monthly financial reporting. Responsible for regular site reviews and audits, action planning and follow up. Collaborates with medical and clinical service leadership to promote team-based care in the context of a patient-centered medical home. Responsible for maintaining pharmacy and 340B policies and procedures and related training programs . Responsibilities Ensures in-house pharmacies operate and maintain records in compliance with federal and state regulations, including but not limited to, 340B, DEA and CMS.
Actively participates in leadership training provided by NVHC.
Leads the pharmacy service line in a dyad relationship with the pharmacy service line manager. Supervises clinical pharmacists and retail pharmacy managers and conducts performance reviews. Promotes engagement of pharmacy service line staff and providers through regular rounding, coaching and recognition.
Ensures that in-house retail hours of operation and availability of clinical pharmacists meet the needs of the organization and its patients.
Ensures the optimal utilization of available programs, including 340B, Title X and other grants, to help eligible patients gain access to affordable medications.
Ensures security of drug inventory and pharmacy records.
Ensures appropriate in-house pharmacy drug inventory maintained to balance cost and accessibility. Ensures pharmacy team has access to appropriate published drug information references and clinical practice guidelines as needed.
Responsible for maintenance of current collaborative practice agreements as well as pharmacy and 340B policies and procedures.
Ensures the competency of all retail and clinical pharmacists.
Oversees all pharmacy-related training and education programs, including pharmacy students, residents, pharmacists and other health care professionals.
Ensures success of the pharmacy service line through the identification of new strategies and the execution, evaluation and optimization of new and existing programs.
Ensures pharmacy compliance with patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
Ensures in-house pharmacy preparedness for annual Board of Pharmacy inspection Ensures patient, employee, provider and interdepartmental satisfaction by providing excellent customer service.
Manages pharmacy labor and expenses to ensure spending remains within budgeted allowances. Meets with pharmacy managers monthly to review profit and loss reports.
Ensures regular compliance audits and site reviews at clinic and pharmacy sites. Responsible for annual external 340B audit
Oversees 340B compliance for the organization, including internal audits and corrective action plans, training and education.
Responsible for compliance reports for Risk Management Committee. Responsible for quarterly pharmaceutical inventory report for Finance.
Travels regularly for site visits, and job-related education and training. Qualifications Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy. CPR and immunization certifications required.
Five years of pharmacy management experience in a 340B setting.
Must be professionally competent with a license in good standing from the Nevada State Board of
