Role/Responsibilities

As a our Data Stewardship Lead, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a team responsible for generating and delivering industry leading risk metrics to a variety of products offered by Moody's Analytics. The Data Steward will lead our data dictionary design activities. Act as a gatekeeper to ensure that the data that is being processed and mapped is clearly and consistently defined. You will manage the team responsible for mapping new data sets that enter our data repository. This position involves a blend of qualitative/quantitative financial research and technical skills to source and maintain credit risk data and models. This position is for you, if you detailed oriented, are a quick learner, have a passion for data organization and integrity.

The Data Management and Analytics group is responsible for managing the critical processes that ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of vital financial data that is linked to our industry-standard credit risk measurement tools and related software applications. This role will facilitate that process, working with the engineering, IT, support, and development teams to ensure the timely and seamless delivery of data to clients. Additionally, the role is responsible for gathering and inputting financial data from clients into the company's credit risk measurement tools and software, as well as running the data processing and calculations that feed the company's credit risk measurement and management products.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a data dictionary for the Credit Analytics team
Lead a team responsible for data analysis, data profiling, and data mapping capabilities for new data sources
Partners with the enterprise data governance team to ensure solution adhere to the organization's data principles and guidelines
Unify data documentation of the processes/projects/dictionaries across the team
Perform data analysis using a variety of methods
Produce reports that describe data characteristics and highlight trends and issues

Qualifications
Requires Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Graduate degree and/or 5-10 years of work experience is required.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
Written and communication skills to interact with stakeholders and influence outcomes
Willingness to proactive take responsibility and action to resolve cross functional issues across organizational boundaries
Superb analytical skills, persistence in problem solving, and a bility to learn quickly and independently
Understanding of concepts related to corporate Credit Risk
Ability to correctly read and interpret financial statements such as 10K and 10Q; US GAAP, IFRS, and other regional accounting principles
Experience working with AWS (Glue, Athena)
Experience with Data Catalog tools (Collibra is strongly preferred)
Proficiency in SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel

Preferred
Proficiency in a statistical package (R)
Experience with a scripting language (Python)
Exposure to third-party BI Tools: Tableau, Qlik, R Shiny
Experience in data modeling and query optimization
