I.T Systems Manager

Summary:Responsible for the day to day operation, assisting with departmental strategic design and development, and direct supervision of all activities within the IT Systems Engineering department. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and conduct hiring, training, developing, measuring performance, mentoring, disciplining, and scheduling department staff
  • Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement
  • Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands
  • Develop recommendations and prepare both departmental and systems expenditure requirements for hardware and software to ensure that IT service needs are met
  • Evaluate and determine specific systems' needs to ensure proper operation and support
  • Responsible for the security and support of enterprise server platforms and systems infrastructure
  • Maintain, secure and administer server and systems Infrastructure
  • Interact with appropriate IT and business unit personnel
  • Review, evaluate and recommend staff assignments to ensure service and support requirements are met
  • Establish and enforce IT service level agreements for problem resolution
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols and standards in support of IT technology procurement and development efforts and makes recommendations to the Sr. Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations
  • Liaison with vendors for the procurement of new systems technologies, manages installations and resolves issues
  • Manage day-to-day operations of IT systems engineering staff and ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues
  • Coordinate and perform hands-on fixes at the network level, including installing hardware and configuring systems and applications
  • Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
  • Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant) based on request
  • Manage corporate IT assets in a manner maximizing the investment in technology development, upgrades and refreshes
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of server and other infrastructure
  • Promote a mindset for sustained success, growth and diversity
  • Develop and maintain collaborative, strategic partnerships with all relevant internal departments as well as external vendors, regarding support for IT service management components and solutions
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assignedRequirements:Qualifications
    • Minimum of 6 years' experience performing same or similar job duties with at least 3 years' experience managing projects. Emphasis on team management and team building is essential
    • Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions; demonstrated experience managing customer relationships
    • Prior casino and/or hospitality experience preferred
    • 10 years' experience engineering and supporting Microsoft server environments with operating systems ranging from Windows Server 2000 to Windows Server 2019.
    • 5 years' experience of VMware engineering and support
    • 3 years' experience of UNIX based/Linux engineering and support
    • Experience administrating storage preferred
    • Scripting and automation experience preferred
    • Microsoft Certifications such as MCSE Mobility (Any formal System Center training) preferred
    • Red Hat certifications, RHCE preferred
    • Excellent oral, telephonic and written communication skills and ability to work with employees and customers at all skill levels; including the ability to translate/communicate technical/analytical issues to all types of end users and echelons of management
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
    • Must be available for off-hours remote and/or on-site team or customer support
    • Demonstrated leadership to raise process awareness and issues to execute leadership, engage leaders and stakeholders in understanding their roles in delivering solutions
    • Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action
    • Genuine desire to provide superior service
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
    • At least 21 years of age
    • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
    • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
