Job Description:

Develops the overall energy resource and supply portfolio, including fuel and power procurement strategies for presentation and requested authorization by senior executives and PUCN. Leads the development, presentation and defense of the integrated resource plan ("IRP") and IRP amendment filings including analysis of alternative long term resources and business plans. Ensures an integrated view across all facets including generation, transmission, contracting, demand side management and renewables that facilitates supply optimization and a least cost planning approach. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leads a group of planning managers, economists and staff analysts in developing the overall integrated resource and energy supply plans for the utilities and presents these plans for internal and PUCN approval: Secures approval of planning forecasts Secures approval for large generation and transmission investments through the resource planning process and PUCN hearing process, including a finding of prudence. Supports approval of Renewable Energy Resources necessary to maintain RPS compliance Supports approval of Demand Side Management plans Supports approval of long term purchase power agreements. Supports development of the companies short and long term forecasts for energy demand/load, fuel prices, energy and capacity prices, electric/gas sales, and total fuel and purchased power costs. Ensures proper structuring, evaluation and documentation of commercial transactions and alternative long term energy supply portfolios. Collaborates with Rates & Regulatory to ensure full recovery of F&PP costs and to evaluate impact of alternative rate structures and negotiated settlement options. Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility. Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company. - Performs related duties as assigned. - Requirements Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school plus 6 or more years of related experience. Candidates that do not possess a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience. Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of Western energy markets and productions, supply portfolio economics and relevant rate structures and regulatory issues. Analytical and leadership in assessing portfolio needs and optimization options skills, project management and coordination across internal and external interfaces, critical listening skills and excellent oral and written communication. Compensation Annual Salary: $145,900.00 (Min) to $171,600.00 (Mid); Up to 20% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company.
