The Commodity Manager is a key role to help to achieve our strategy and ensure that we are partnering with the right suppliers to bring value to the business. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work in a global team working closely with engineers, manufacturing and quality teams as well as with the central Siemens Heathineers strategic procurement team to ensure that best practice procurement processes are followed.What you will do: Working closely with the Category Manager to help develop the category plans. Provides detailed analysis of suppliers including recommendations. Develops appropriate sourcing strategies to feed into the category plans for the sub-category of procurement responsible for, including the mitigation of potential supply chain risks. Implements the sourcing strategy as defined in the approved category strategy document. Uses appropriate negotiation strategies and styles with clear parameters to achieve strategic aims. Negotiates new contracts with suppliers, prepares RFQ/RFI to suppliers. Accountable for completing the supplier scorecards and completing supplier business reviews as defined by the schedule. Gathers supplier data and completes the analysis ahead of supplier business reviews. Ensures supplier relationship management processes and improvement plans are proactively executed to correct defective performance for the delivery of purchased goods or services. Evaluates metrics that can be applied to measure performance and develop improvement plans with suppliers and stakeholders. Identifies supplier risks, attends the supplier risk meeting and provides mitigation plans for any identified risks. Certify costs and monitor compliance to, and take remedial actions, for any deviations from contracted payment terms for purchased goods and services, managing any contracted risk and reward mechanisms. Implements cost saving strategies as defined in the category plan and sourcing plans, provides updates. Improves the cost, quality or delivery of purchased goods and services through the implementation of statistical methods of analysis. Creates the contracts/NDAs/quality agreements etc. with the suppliers. Accountable for ensuring that contracts are set up and are in place in the SAP system. Completes timely reviews of contracts according to the defined calendar. Ensure that quantities of purchased goods and services are delivered to contractual agreements and take appropriate actions to address any shortfall or excess working closely with Operation Execution teams. Responsible for vendor master information and master data (relating to lead times, MOQ etc.) is correct in the system. Provides details on changes required to the Data, Analytics & Technology team for updates. Evaluates data recorded on balanced scorecards for supply chain performance and develop improvements with suppliers and other stakeholders. Works with the Materials Schedulers to gather data on supplier's performance. Attends the Supplier Review Board meetings and provides input. Accountable for reporting KPIs and completing analysis and recommendations for any misses. Investigate procurement and supply chain issues through application and analysis of data to create appropriate recommendations. Onboards suppliers as required and ensures that they are set up in the system. Ensures that suppliers are following CSR and aids in the implementation of new initiatives. Monitor that purchased goods and services comply with the standards set for achieving sustainable outcomes and take appropriate actions to address any issues.
