Job Description:
The Director of Data & Analytics oversees a team focused on
managing analytics technologies, data assets, data visualization,
data curation, and analytical models for both internal and external
applications. We are seeking an individual with demonstratable
experience leading data-centric teams with a focus on value-based
and cost-of-care programs in partnership with clinical
stakeholders. The ideal candidate can effectively create and
execute on data strategies and analytics technology roadmaps as
well as lead data architecture and analytical frameworks in
large-scale data environments. A successful candidate will provide
thought leadership and shepherd new technology solutions that will
improve our analytics capabilities. This role is critical as it
supports and maintains foundational analytics capabilities for the
AIM Specialty Health and myNEXUS business units. How You Will Make
an Impact:
- Establish a data strategy and technology roadmap, leveraging a
build, buy, partner framework to support the AIM Specialty Health
and myNEXUS business units.
- Develop business cases to scale new analytics solutions, and
associated resources (people, funding, technology) required to
successfully deliver on analytics or business initiatives.
- Manage a team of associates whose primary purpose is developing
and curating data, implementing new analytics solutions, and
developing data visualizations to be used for analyzing business
opportunities and monitoring performance.
- Quickly deploy data pipelines, APIs, and feeds from disparate
data sources and operational software environments to support proof
of concepts or MVP solutions.
- Bring a dev ops mindset to enable near real-time and
batch-based analytical solutions that leverage new
technologies.
- Establish and manage teams to a set of standards and governance
to improve performance and support effective development/outputs
across the analytics organization.
- Identify new ways to support and improve analytics development
efforts across the team, which includes traditional BI and
reporting as well as data science and machine learning.
- Leverage medical claims data sets to provide compelling
datasets and recommendations to the analytics to support new
analysis.
- Collaborate with analytics teams, business partners, and
technology teams from product strategy, product management, data
strategy, and data science perspective to develop effective
solutions improving analytical capabilities.
- Continuously assess for opportunities, develop timelines, and
action plans to mitigate potential risks, including escalations
from customers.
- Ensure a high level of data quality, integrity, accuracy, and
timeliness supporting analytics deliverables as well as
maintaining/scaling existing data environments and complex ETL
processes
- Oversee prioritization and coordinate highly visible projects
as well as management of a portfolio of solutions.
- Lead multi-departmental projects by closely coordinating
technical and non-technical resources.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with a bias towards changing
the status quo through fact-based analytics offerings.
- Proven track record of deploying effective talent management
programs and establishing a high standard of performance for hybrid
teams that work collaboratively on-site and/or remote. Requires
Bachelor's degree and minimum of 9 years of experience in
financial, utilization, and quality measures of health care,
managed care information development, physician profiling reporting
or any combination of education and experience, which would provide
an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and
Experiences:
- BS/BA degree in Business Information System, Computer Science,
Engineering, or a quantitative-related field; minimum of 8-10 years
related experience in an analytics environment supporting
architecture, engineering and development of data applications and
analytics solutions, or any combination of education and
experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- 7+ years of experience working with cloud and on-prem
databases, data lakes, and languages (i.e. Snowflake, Teradata,
Sybase, Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, SQL, HQL, Hadoop, Python, Databricks,
etc.)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare administrative and operational
data, specifically prior authorization, patient, provider,
eligibility, and medical claims data.
- Demonstrated experience in creating successful data strategies
and environments
- Lead and support product development organizations in a
healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle standards and supporting
go-to-market introductions through better data and analytics
capabilities.
- Must be able to lead and facilitate sessions bringing together
all relevant stakeholders to develop enterprise solutions.
- Experience specific to health insurance or health insurance
claims data or graduate-level related education (MBA or MPH) may
also be used to offset years of experience. Familiarity with
medical management or population health programs is highly
desired.
- Expert in Qlik, Tableau, and/or other data visualization
tools/technologies
- Experience launching solutions within Agile environments
- Possess working knowledge of healthcare data and measurement
standards such as ICD10, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRG, DxCG, PMPM, and
utilization per 1,000
- Preference for candidates with healthcare analytics consulting
experience
- Experience managing data teams in a shared service analytics
environment For candidates working in person or remotely in the
below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is
$132,720 to $199,080. Locations: California; Colorado; Nevada;
Washington State; Jersey City, NJ; New York City, NY; Ithaca, NY
and Westchester County, NY In addition to your salary, Elevance
