What You'll Do

  • Drive successful business growth by identifying new prospects and expanding current customer relationships target at the State Government Marketplace.
  • Serve as a highly motivated professional who does what is right for the customer.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the SaaS sales process and Varis value proposition.
  • Apply consultative selling by prioritizing relationships and open dialogue to understand and provide solutions to customer needs.
  • Collaborate with Legal and senior leaders to negotiate and architect innovative and compelling agreements.
  • Understand unique customer needs and align customer profiles to ensure successful sales that result in high customer satisfaction and commitments to long-term contracts.
  • Consistently land mid-market and beyond (generally $50M-$1B+ annual revenue) SaaS opportunities in the B2B space via expert contract negotiation.
  • Design plans to ensure the prospecting pipeline continually grows and generates new contacts.
  • Research, design, and oversee proactive campaigns to create new sales opportunities within a defined segment/territory.
  • Remain ahead of the curve with respect to the latest sales trends and newest technologies, including competitor research.
  • Maintain sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors, and supply and demand.
  • Provide comprehensive updates to the Varis Leadership Team (LT) by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Establish and maintain both technical and business credibility with customer leadership.
  • Build strong internal, external, and cross-functional relationships.
    What You'll Need
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 10+ years in B2B SaaS sales (full-cycle), preferably at the mid-market or enterprise level.
    • 7+ years in selling B2B SaaS sales to State Government Sector
    • Extensive experience with Challenger or Consultative Sales methodologies.
    • Extensive experience in consistently surpassing sales targets and selling complex solutions (versus individual product lines) with 3+ month and longer sales cycles.
    • Ability to maintain confidence, confidentially, and composure during difficult and/or complex situations.
    • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced deadline environment while successfully managing multiple tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work, influence, problem solve, and engage with all levels of the organization.
    • Proven track record in adapting to change and accelerating the performance of tech industry teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to be well balanced between the strategic view of the work and the execution aspect of the role.
