This role collaborates with business owners to identify and drive the implementation of the appropriate business model to support the product. Influences changes to the business model to improve the administration and effectiveness of the product performance. May work with internal or external business constituents to determine future business model direction or respond to business model inquiries. Will involve multiple product and business functions as well as multiple business segments.
Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance and direction through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff. You will be responsible for ensuring enterprise alignment of a new integrated Operating Model for the Integrated Medicare Medicaid (IMM) product of UHC Community and State. Specifically, ensuring alignment with the Common Medicare Infrastructure (CMI) strategy as defined for our Medicare business. You will provide subject matter expertise and leadership in areas including healthcare, regulatory compliance, Medicare program definition, risk identification/mitigation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on UHG functional knowledge and background. You will support a matrixed team in working across the organization to ensure we are executing on our goals in the most efficient and effective manner. You will plan, develop, and implement strategies and action plans to ensure internal alignment for the new IMM business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing comprehensive capability alignment plan, including issues, risks, assumptions, and critical path timelines for delivery

  • Supporting definition and development of IMM model as part of multi-functional model design and implementation team, including appropriate governance structures

  • Representing CMI in IMM product development and implementation

  • Negotiating with Medicare & Retiree, Community and State, and Regulatory Affairs necessary variances and supports within CMI to develop an effective IMM product

  • Serving as CMI subject matter expert to IMM executive and product team regarding CMI requirements

  • Work most often impacts a large business unit, or multiple markets/sites

  • Develops and executes strategies for a function or discipline that span a large business unit or multiple markets/sites

  • Directs others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functions or disciplines

  • Product, service, or process decisions are most likely to impact multiple functions and/or customer accounts

    Required Qualifications:

    • Licensed BH - Master's degree

    • 5+ years of Medicare regulatory experience

    • 5+ years of Product development experience

    • 5+ years of experience managing multiple projects/tasks to meet contractual deadlines or other time sensitive commitments

    • Demonstrated success of high-level effectiveness in large matrixed organizations
      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Advanced degree

      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

      • MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint skills at an intermediate to advanced level

      • Proven ability to influence course of action when others are directly accountable for outcomes

      • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a matrix environment, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

      • Demonstrated ability to interface and present to senior management effectively

      • Excellent collaboration and drive for results and organizational excellence

      • Solid working knowledge of CMI

          Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
