Responsibilities

Valley Health Physician Alliance has an established footprint across the city and, in conjunction with the entire Valley Health System network of hospitals, outpatient facilities, and behavioral health centers, continues to grow and demonstrate its leadership position in the industry. Offering a network of primary care practices, cardiothoracic, bariatric, gastroenterology, general, and orthopedic surgeons; our group works cohesively to achieve consistent quality outcomes.

Position Summary:

• Communicates effectively within and beyond assigned team.
• Assist with daily clerical operations, including answering multi-phone lines and making copies of documents as necessary.
• Accurately files patient charts; including scanning documents into files as necessary.
• Schedules patient appointments as necessary, return visits and Specialists.
• Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.) as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia.     Qualifications
    
    Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements:
    
    Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Medical Assistant certificate required
    • Current BLS/CPR certification required Work experience:
      • Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant
      • Familiarity with medical terminology required
      • Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol)
