Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program
(EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet
specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA
policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of
appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and
eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA
Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete
review of the EDRP application.

This is an Open Continuous Announcement that will be used to fill
multiple-specialty vacant throughout the VA Southern Nevada Health
Care System and will remain open until 09/29/2023. Applications
will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will
be considered and referred as vacancies become available.
EDRP is applicable to the following assignment within the VA
Southern Nevada Health Care System ONLY: RN Intensive Care Unit
(ICU), RN Step Down ICU, RN Operating Room, RN Inpatient CLC. All
other Registered Nurse assignments are NOT eligible for EDRP.
Registered Nurses will be assigned to interested units throughout
facility. The Registered Nurse practices in a complex patient care
setting in collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues and the
department nurse/unit manager.

Pay Schedule: The salary range listed in this announcement is a
Base-Line Salary for a full-time work schedule. Starting salary
will be set based on locality (which may include a special pay rate
depending upon location), as well as Full Time, Part Time or
Intermittent employment.

Applicants pending the completion of educational or
certification/licensure requirements may be referred and
tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements

Basic Requirements:
Physical Requirements: Involves considerable amount of standing,
walking, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, and turning.
Requires carrying or lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs., but
occasionally may require work that involves pushing or lifting in
excess of 50 pounds and going up and down flights of stairs. The
position requires visual and auditory acuity at a level to provide
safe and effective nursing care. The position requires the nurse to
work for periods of time with arms above shoulder level or with
neck in a fully flexed or extended position and the ability to
physically control or defend against emotionally ill clients.
Requires use of hands for actions such as typing, simple grasping,
fine manipulation, and repetitive actions. Requires the ability to
frequently respond to multiple demands and priorities. Has
potential for exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous waste and
chemicals. Emotional and mental stability - ability to effectively
perform the essential functions of the position and respond
appropriately in emergency situations.
