The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones. Hours: This position is full-time (40 hours/week). Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The supervisor will determine the schedule. May be asked to float to other practices as needed. Location: 8526 Dell Webb Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89134, and 25% travel to other Las Vegas locations Primary Responsibilities: - Provide exceptional service to all customers - Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time - Complete check-in tasks to include insurance verification and copy required documents - Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts - Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies - Processes walk-in patients and visitors - Schedules appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider - Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule) - Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc. - Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted - Work with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow - Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary - Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public - Performs all other related duties as assigned What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma/GED (or higher) - 1 years of customer service or healthcare experience - Beginner level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: - Bilingual in Spanish/English Soft Skills: - Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability - Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
