Job Description Job Description Position SummaryUnder the
supervision of the dispensing provider, the dispensing tech will
process prescriptions for outpatient dispensing at the 340B
clinic’s dispensary in accordance with state and federal
regulations and company policies and procedures. The dispensing
technician will greet both internal and external customers on the
phone and face-to-face, providing excellent customer service. This
person will monitor inventory and will maintain a clean and
organized dispensary. This role may require travel occasionally for
site reviews, training, and education. It is the responsibility of
the dispensing technician to complete all training and education
required to maintain their state license and PTCB national

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining
compliance with Federal and State dispensary regulations (i.e.,
340B, DEA, CMS) and NVHC Policies and Procedures. Prepares
prescription orders for the dispensing provider to dispense by
reading prescriptions, typing labels, calculating quantities, and
determining prescription and drug expiration dates. Maintains a
dispensary inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock levels and
current orders and anticipating demand, ordering sufficient amounts
to meet demand, verifying receipt of stock, removing outdated
drugs, and returning excess stock. Monitors the price of stock to
ensure the pharmacy receives the best price available, returns
stock due to higher prices when needed, maintains/updates drug cost
in pharmacy software. Replenishes drugs in an automated pharmacy
dispensing system, if applicable. Perform inventory audits and
maintain the security of drug inventory and dispensary records.
Ensure the dispensary remains clean and organized. Ensures
dispensary compliance with patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
Monitors refrigerator and room temperatures and understands vaccine
and drug management procedures Deliver quality customer service to
patients, responding to inquiries, questions or requests, and
referring them to the pharmacist for medical information Required
Qualifications Nevada State Pharmaceutical Technician License
required High school diploma/GED 1 years’ experience in a pharmacy
or related healthcare role 1 years’ experience in customer service
Preferred Qualifications Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
Certification (PTCB) preferred, if not certified upon hire, must
take and pass exam within 12 months of hire. Bilingual fluency in
English and Spanish Knowledge of pharmacy workflow, pharmacy
software and EHR Knowledge of pharmacy law and 340B regulations;
ability to provide education on the 340B program for providers and
medical assistance and optimize compliance Skill in operating
various types of office equipment, such as, calculator,
printer/copier/fax, postage machine, and telephone system Skill in
operating PC utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, databases,
email Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
and comply with HIPAA Ability to read prescriptions and drug
labels, including fine print Ability to calculate figures and
amounts such as sliding fees, discounts, proportions and
percentages Ability to exercise good judgement in appraising
situations and making decisions Ability to understand and respond
appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population
groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, gender, etc.
Ability to work all shifts, including evenings and weekends, and
work up to 40 hours per week Ability to travel occasionally to
visit remote sites and to attend off-site training and education.
