The Director of Human Resources is responsible for improving
organizational performance by driving employee engagement and
recognition, serving as a change champion, implementing effective
employee relations strategy, and aligning employee culture with
AH4Rs Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities:
+ Conducts objective, thorough, and timely investigations; reviews
and researches evidence and documents to analyze the overall fact
pattern of claims; manages escalated issues from Employee Relations
Team & Regional HR Managers; coordinates with staff attorneys to
provide deposition strategies and/or other documentation; analyzes
employee relations trends and proposes methods to improve
problematic trends after careful research; provides periodic
detailed reports; data entry and/or tracking of caseload.
+ Counsels and guides managers in interpreting and applying
policies and procedures to resolve issues related to disciplinary
action, termination, training, and conflict resolution; attends
weekly departmental meetings to support front line supervisors;
provides feedback and recommendations; creates and presents
leadership training tailored to department needs.
+ Conducts conflict resolution meetings with department leaders &
provides recommendations for resolution; assists supervisors and/or
managers in creating and delivering Performance Improvement Plans
(PIPs); escalates areas of concern to VP of HR or obtain direction
from Corporate Counsel. Supports, reviews, and provides direction
to ER & Regional HR Manager Teams.
+ Oversees activities of the department; manages, trains, and
coaches the team while guiding individuals to reach their potential
and providing constructive feedback for employee development;
prospects, interviews, and strategically hires new and replacement
employees.
+ Interprets and applies company policies, HR practices and
standards; participates in the development of policies and training
programs for employees and managers regarding employee relations,
sexual harassment, diversity and inclusion, complaints, &
grievances. Monitors regulatory changes and addresses
inconsistencies to minimize company risk.
+ In accordance with applicable policies/procedures and
Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory
responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems; enforcing all safety
rules and ensuring safe work procedures.
Requirements:
+ Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a
related field required.
+ Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources experience in
Employee Relations / Conflict Resolution required that includes the
following:
+ Proven track record as a team player, collaborator, coach, and
facilitator.
+ Proven success supporting various business groups at all levels
of the organization.
+ Managed and prioritized a large, varied and often complex case
load effectively and efficiently to achieve positive results.
+ Solid understanding of federal/state employment and labor laws
and governmental compliance requirements.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience managing
direct reports required.
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel,
Visio, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat required.
+ Valid drivers license required.
+ Masters Degree preferred.
+ Excellent working knowledge of benefits, compensation,
recruiting, and performance management preferred.
+ Human Resources designations such as PHR or SPHR preferred SHRM
Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified
Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential is highly desired.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication, planning,
negotiation, analysis and organizing skills.
+ Strong leadership, employee development, appraisal, conflict
resolution and problem-solving skills.
+ Must be able to work well with varying workstyles, managing
philosophies and first-time managers.
+ Must be able to use discretion and independent judgement.
+ Must be able to implement process improvement changes.
+ Must be able to work in a team environment.
+ Must be able to pay close attention to details.
+ Must be able to adapt and flex to a changing environment.
+ Must be able to lift/carry 20 pounds.
+ Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
