The #G4DEV team within Allegiant Travel Company is responsible the
development of our next generation of applications to support our
e-commerce, hospitality and airline operations platforms in a
fast-moving and challenging environment that is balanced among
delivery, innovation, and learning.We develop travel and
hospitality management applications for Airline, Hotel &
Hospitality, Car and related products from online shopping, booking
and logistics while supporting airline operations. As a member of
our development team, you ll analyze and improve the efficiency,
scalability, and reliability of our logic and integration systems.
You will be an integral part of our development team, working
closely with our development and other project teams to power
applications that streamline day-to-day processes and bring data to
life.The Software Engineer II will design and develop extremely
high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems that process
and manage critical applications using Java and other backend

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be
authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of
1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS,
or Math; Master's Degree preferred.
Years of Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' hands-on
development experience in object-oriented languages like Java, C#,
Ruby, Scala or C++, as well as middleware technologies like Java EE
8 (Lambda, CDI, JPA, JAXRS), Spring Boot, Maven, JDBC; and testing
utilities in Java like JUnit, Mockito, Arquillian, JMeter, DBUnit.
Minimum two (2) years' experience with the full systems lifecycle
covering requirements, design, development, testing and delivery of
software components operations under an n-tier architectures, with
Java or Node.js based REST web services and relevant experience in
developing software based on industry-wide coding standards such as
MySQL, DB2 or SQL Server experience including writing stored
procedures, views and triggers.
Hands-on development using Test Driven Development (TDD);
experience with Java-based testing utilities like JUnit, Mockito,
Arquillian, JMeter, DBUnit is desired.
Experience with any Java-based ORM framework preferred, as well as
database migration utilities like Flyway is highly desired.
Demonstrated ability in strong computer science foundations (OOP
and/or functional programming)
Experience working in Agile development environment is desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must
have the ability to communicate ideas effectively and cross
functionally; exhibit creativity, flexibility, adaptability and the
drive to achieve results; capacity to work independently and as a
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel and
Participate in user experience design, architecture initiatives,
and code reviews with a major focus on ease of use, reusability,
performance, and developmental efficiency.
Work as a member of a team, helping the team respond quickly and
effectively to business/project needs.
Participate in software maintenance including quality and stability
Keep up with the latest developments in Java/JEE, PHP or Node.js
frameworks and related communities.
Adhere to development standards and best practices in software
Use object-oriented analysis and design techniques along with
effective use of design patterns.
Use test driven development for software development.
Design and implement product enhancements based on business
Re-factor current application design and/or implementation to
support application enhancement requests.
Work with the business analysts to analyze requirements.
Design and develop domain data models and database schemas to
support business requirements.
Develop design documents and participate in design and code
Develop complex database interactions and ad-hoc queries as

the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of
