Scientific Games' global reach is made possible through the expertise, skill and dedicated efforts of its 8,000+ employees who serve lottery and gaming customers in more than 100+ countries on 6 continents.Position SummaryEssential Job Functions: Utilizes technical knowledge to write and complete software tasks and projectsResearches new technologies and incorporates them into new systems and productsTakes initiative in leading projects, delegating responsibilities, and collaborating with othersTests, integrates, writes, troubleshoots, and debugs software applicationsResponsible for the architecture and implementation of critical software components; uses company standards and applies design principals and patterns to develop robust softwareWorks closely with other engineers to provide assistance and guidance in the areas of software architecture, coding standards, and system related issuesMay act as team mentor in a multi-person development teamMay supervise and verify the work of engineers, designers, draftsmen, or technicianQualifications:Training and/or Experience: Five or more years of professional experience in a software development teamFive or more years of experience with build automation, continuous integration, unit test, change management and configuration management, using .Net, Java, JSF, Spring, REST, SOAP Web services.Experience on Angular, Docker, Swarm, Microservices, Devops will be considered a plusKnowledge on IBM iSeries/Power system will be considered a plusMinimum of two years' experience with software methodologiesExperience with programming, debugging, and troubleshooting techniquesExperience with either software engineering/embedded software/computer/electrical engineer experience with software exposureKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work well with others in a team environmentStrong working knowledge of Software Development LifecycleStrong working knowledge of operating systemsStrong knowledge of tools to test software applications/systemsStrong working knowledge of development/modeling toolsAbility to lead and manage subordinatesStrong multi-tasking skillsEnjoy working in a creative environmentExcellent communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsMust be able to obtain and hold a Nevada Gaming CardEducation:Bachelor's degree required, preferably BSEE, BSCE, BSEET, or BSCS or equivalent work experience.Master's degree preferredPhysical Requirements: Ability to travel extensively.Work Conditions: The work conditions are representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizationsExtensive travel requiredScientific Games Corporation and its affiliates (collectively, 'SG') are engaged in highly regulated gaming and lottery businesses.
