ROLE of the POSITION The Assistant Professor-in-Residence of Instructional Technology & Design is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track, promotable position. Responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester (four courses per semester) or the equivalent workload, and engaging in departmental, college, university, and/or professional service. Successful applicants will be expected to: * Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in educational technology; * Direct and manage foundational teacher preparation courses in educational technology; * Coordinate curriculum with elementary and secondary education faculty; * Mentor graduate teaching assistants; * Assist in both the development and management of departmental programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a doctoral degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or closely related discipline, from a regionally accredited college or university and the following experience: (a) higher education teaching experience; (b) a demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations; (c) a demonstrated knowledge of education inequities and other challenges faced by underrepresented and marginalized populations; (d) excellent oral and written communications skills in English, and related high-level administrative skills, including careful attention to detail; (e) a highly collaborative collegial disposition characterized by a willingness to be fully present with students, faculty, and students; and (f) a capacity to seek and engage in external funding opportunities to support teaching and community initiatives related to PK-12 education. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The following additional candidate attributes are highly desired: (a) PK-12 and/or workforce teaching/training experience; (b) previous experience teaching educational technology courses; and (c) knowledge and experience working with first generation, low-income diverse and multicultural populations. SALARY RANGE Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
