Job Description:
The Systems Administrator designs, implements, manages, and
supports IT infrastructure in a hybrid environment. Qualified
candidates are skilled in automation, virtualization, storage,
networking, and data center management. Other responsibilities
include administering enterprise applications such as Active
Directory, Exchange, VMWare, and HPE hyper-converged
systems.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Designs,
implements, and administers a Windows server infrastructure,
including Active Directory, Patch Management, and a VDI desktop
environment; Deploys and manages virtual servers, desktops,
storage, and networks; Administers enterprise backup systems and
overall backup strategy; Administers file servers, SQL servers, and
other enterprise applications; Administers software release
controls which include tracking, integration, testing, deployment,
and support of software applications and release levels; Plans and
administers a voice environment, including an on premise PBX, SIP
carriers, and cell phone providers; Assists with migrations of
on-premise applications and servers to Azure; Assist in the
development of policies, procedures, and guidelines relating to
information technology, especially in relation to network and
server operations; Develops and maintains documentation necessary
for the efficient operation of the Credit Union's infrastructure;
Provides technical support for all network application and file
service systems that impact the Credit Union's operating systems,
Reviews existing server practices and procedures and makes
recommendations for changes or additions; Provides IT
infrastructure design leadership and technology innovation for all
platforms; Assists with forensic investigations during security
incidents; Maintains updated project lists and reports project
status to management on a regular basis; Provides technical support
for all network applications and file service systems that impact
the Credit Union; Researches, resolves, and responds to complex
questions in accordance with current systems capabilities and
settings; Interfaces with users to develop project and user
requirements; Communicates new system enhancements and changes to
staff verbally or in writing; Answers help desk calls when needed;
Monitors and enforces proper software licensing compliance. Serves
as technical lead with outside service providers regarding
maintenance, installation or de-installation of software and/or
equipment; Participates in departmental meetings to review
performance metrics, raise issues, solve problems, and implement
improvements in processes, tools, and working relationships;
Provides consulting, guidance, and coordination to business units
and departments on information systems and security; and
Participates in on-call support coverage; and Performs other duties
as assigned;QUALIFICATIONS Ability to perform all duties and meet
all requirements of the Systems Administrator position; Expert
working knowledge in Windows Operating Systems, networking,
administration, and troubleshooting; Expert working knowledge in
Microsoft, VMWare, and enterprise backup platforms; Thorough
working knowledge of Windows server setup, configuration, and
performance tuning of Microsoft Server Applications; Thorough
working knowledge in administration and monitoring of
network/server security such as patch management and EDR; Thorough
working knowledge and understanding of contemporary data security
issues as well as the methods, procedures, and systems designed to
address these issues; Ability to effectively communicate verbally
and in writing, including negotiation skills and the ability to
develop reports, policies, procedures, and system documentation at
a professional level for both technical and non-technical
audiences; Demonstrated ability to be organized, responsive, and
maintain workflow under strict timelines, and the ability to
coordinate multiple activities and projects simultaneously, and
prioritize work; Ability to maintain regularly scheduled
attendance; and Must be able to relate appropriately to other
people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along
with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes;
(b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instruction, and
communicating with others; and (c) respond appropriately to
constructive feedback from a supervisor;EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEA
bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline is
preferred. Microsoft and VMware certifications and six plus years'
experience administering servers in a medium to large-scale,
multi-platform information technology environment are
preferred.
