Job Description:
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple
western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint
Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4
develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training
environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft,
weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's
global challenges. JOB SUMMARY Essential Functions/Duties Wireless
Telephony Systems Technician Performs a variety of fundamental
field engineering tasks under general supervision of a senior level
engineer, involved in the installation, operations, testing and
maintenance of electronic equipment and systems. --- Conduct
research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in
obtaining technical information and keeps informed of currently
approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering
specialty --- Possess in-depth knowledge of cyber based wireless
systems to include UMTS, GSM, LTE, 4G/5G --- Performs engineering
or other highly technical tasks that are varies and may be somewhat
difficult in character --- Strong knowledge and experience of
OA&M practices to include engineering and analysis under the
supervision of senior field engineers --- Plans and carries out
successive engineering steps and resolves technical problems by
standard practices and techniques, such as tolerance studies and
design calculations --- Able to sustain cyber systems and IP
infrastructure utilizing the latest and diverse performance and
optimization tools --- Reasonable and demonstrative knowledge and
experience in RF principles to include cell tower propagation, RF
plotting, cellular inter0linking, field testing, neighboring,
uplink-downlink testing as ell as subscriber provisioning ---
Supports projects with limited scope or parts of more complex
projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the
documents to be prepared --- Be well versed in MSC/BSSC OA&M
functions, upgrade and provisioning --- Generate sections of design
specifications of more complex projects or complex projects or
complete specifications of less complex projects --- Has
demonstrable knowledge of IP functionality to include architecture,
firewalls, and network access --- Using computer-assisted test
methods, conducts laboratory investigations on equipment or systems
--- Assists in preparation of reports, correspondence or technical
studies --- Able to assist with cellular network design and
engineering to support network growth and adaptation --- Studies
currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to
engineering specialty --- Prepare, deliver and submit technical
presentation or in-person design and review meetings --- Perform
other job-related duties, as required. Other Responsibilities Each
employee must read, understand, and implement the general and
specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental
requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to
their job. Working Conditions Work is performed in a typical office
environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20
pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant
use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing
documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for
communication; and constant mental alertness are required. Travel
to remote company work locations may be required. Requirements
Education, Technical, and Work Experience An associate's degree in
engineering or other technical discipline, or formal
academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 10 years of
experience in the specialty field are required for this position.
In addition, a Field Engineer III must possess the following
qualifications: --- Broad knowledge of concepts, principles, and
practices of engineering that enable senior technical
contributor-level performance on complex projects or programs ---
Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply developments in engineering
to solve problems in the specialty area --- Working knowledge of
computer systems and integrated software application programs ---
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to
problems in operational hardware and software --- Excellent verbal
and written communication skills --- Planning/organizational
