Description:

Provides leadership for the Database Administration practice at Station Casinos, focused on MS-SQL which supports a majority of critical systems in production. Interact with Platform Specialists to achieve an optimal database practice. Interact with Application Specialists to achieve their desired results when using database products. Interact with Senior Leadership to identify and implement opportunities to improve the database posture with respect to management, monitoring, protection, and reporting. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Establish comprehensive standards for design, implementation, configuration, operation and security for databases and related toolsets (monitoring, backup, etc.). Work with teams owning database products to ensure conformity with published standards as new-builds are delivered. Perform gap analysis between existing databases and published standards to create a plan to achieve greater conformity throughout the database environment. Lend expertise to teams encountering difficulties achieving desired results when working with database products. Provide last-level internal support for existing database implementations.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in an enterprise environment with demonstrable expertise in design, implementation, and architecture of MS-SQL databases. Knowledge of other SQL-based database products and/or NoSQL databases would be helpful. Consistently demonstrates extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity and creativity. Develops and applies advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts. High-level knowledge of the design and operation of systems outside of specialty. An understanding of Agile Scrum principles and practices will be helpful when working with other internal IT Teams. Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with Stakeholders, Team Members and Leadership in both written and verbal form. Ability to influence others. Must be able to work on call as required. Experience in providing leadership in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience.
