Our present focus involves various Plaintiff's Litigation matters that are lucrative, profitable, and have a social impact focus. As Staff Counsel, this position will work directly under the Chief of Staff (a retired attorney, award winning journalist, and former editor and writer (for 14-years) for America's foremost legal publication.
You will likely be involved in some David vs. Goliath litigation. Also contract drafting, and what we consider very "bold" litigation support will be required. Yes, you'll be a key forward working with the tutelage of a 30 year bar veteran at your side and you'll be expected to 'post-up Larry Bird' on some days. And, in a newer organization you may be expected to make the coffee, and things like that too with humility, laughter, and ability to not take yourself too seriously.
Now, in addition to coordinating outside counsel and related resources, leading internal projects (such as research projects on corporate governance), and preparing management governance materials--you'll see growth in this role, and be attached to some very positively charged actions.
In our other obligations, you'll endure some menial tasks and take the weight off the senior litigator in smaller, simple income producing obligations.
