Performs vehicle inspections, oil changes, and other routine
maintenance related services.
Performs vehicle repairs such as, brake services, tune-ups,
timing belt services, air conditioning inspection and repair.
Interprets and completes work orders and related documentation
assigned by shop manager.
Documents include, but are not limited to, parts, requisitions,
diagnostics reports, inspection forms and recommendations.
Assists other technicians as assigned.
Maintains clean and orderly work area.
Returns shop supplied equipment to proper locations, ready for
other technicians to use.
Perform smog inspections as required.
Clear and proficient verbal and written communication even under
Common knowledge of vehicle components and the common reasons
for vehicle failure.
Demonstrates problem solving and listening skills to evaluate
member safety as well as the ability. to discern safety issues and
Education & Experience/Licenses & Certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Automotive trade school certification or equivalent
California Smog License
Valid Automobile Operators License
3 5 years Experience in inspecting and repairing cars and light
ASE certified in L1 and at least 4 other areas
EPA Clean Air Act License #609 (for air conditioning diagnostics
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
Works outdoors at vehicle sites when servicing vehicles. Lifting
and carrying tires and parts, weighing up to 50 pounds, several
times a day; bending, kneeling and stooping as required for service
calls. Works in all weather and all traffic conditions. Vehicle
recovery sites may be wet, messy and hazardous. Service Providers
are required to provide a photograph for identification
