The position of Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the bank by preparing forecasts and reports and analyzing data and recommending actions. The position will also be responsible for creating monthly/quarterly reporting to support the Accounting areas of the bank. The Senior Financial Analyst will also be responsible for preparing data for various profitability analysis for bank departments/branches. The position will also either lead and/or assist with crucial Accounting projects (as necessary).ESSENTIAL DUTIESUpholds, at all times, the Banks Core Values of: Integrity, Respect, Positive Attitude, Empowerment, Professionalism, and Excellence.Delivers on the Banks tagline of Your Best Banking Experience Ever! by reinforcing the application of superior customer service through own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.Responsible for various monthly reporting and report production, modeling and financial Analysis.Perform monthly balance sheet variance analysis and budget to actual income statement analysis.Production of IRR/ALM and Bank Holding Company data for quarterly reporting purposes.Preparation of data for department/branch profitability analysis (currently on a quarterly basis).Calculate quarterly allowance for loan loss.Assisting in the implantation of the CECL method of calculating the ALLL.Prepare financial analysis for various new products as determined by the senior management.Leads and/or assists various Accounting projects for the bank on an as needed basis.Assistance with document preparation and upload for ongoing Accounting audit and examination requests.Research and resolve inquiries for variance analysis; Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.Preparation of data for annual budgeting process for the bank.Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed; Identify inefficient processes within the department and seeks solutions.Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance; Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested.Support the Accounting department by being the first points of contact for issues and questions.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThe position Senior Financial Analyst is not currently responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).MENTAL DEMANDSThis position requires the ability to accommodate reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree (BA) or equivalent from a college or technical school; plus at least 2 years+ of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution accounting or bookkeeping background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies. General banking experience, methods and procedures related to Federal Funds transactions and bank account or general ledger reconciliation. Intermediate word processing and spreadsheet software programs skills. Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position. Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, operate a computer, and telephone. This position requires writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
