Specialist, Financial Operations Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a mortgage or housing finance professional to fill the role of Habitat Mortgage Solutions Operations Specialist . This position is responsible for helping support the existing operations of Habitat Mortgage Solutions and future improvement and efficiencies. The position will lead critical administrative and operations workstreams associated with program lending, portfolio management and grant management as well as other important tasks such as maintaining internal organizational systems, managing client contracts and invoices, troubleshooting IT issues, and developing employee resource materials. About Habitat Mortgage Solutions: Habitat Mortgage Solutions provides an array of mortgage services to Habitat for Humanity affiliates. These services are designed to assist affiliates in their work as mortgage originators, homebuilders and sellers. The mortgage platform provides technology, compliance and other related support for processing, underwriting and preparing for closing on mortgage loans. In addition to the mortgage origination support, Habitat Mortgage Solutions also provides access to the capital markets to help with working and permanent capital needs. Habitat Mortgage Solutions is the culmination of nearly two years of collaboration with HFHI staff, external business consultants and affiliate leaders to strengthen the service and support provided to U.S. affiliates. Overwhelmingly, affiliates requested additional mortgage support and services. Habitat Mortgage Solutions provides that desired support. Habitat Mortgage Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of HFHI that received its national designation as a community development financial institution in September 2017. This position will preferably be based at our headquarters office in downtown Atlanta, but we are willing to consider other locations within the US as well. Key Responsibilities: General Operations (45%): Lead, develop and maintain, in coordination with team: clear policies, procedures, templates and tools associated with, but not limited to, lending application process, grant proposal review, grant sub-grant agreements, contracts, program evaluation, reporting, risk mitigation, database and folder management. Create and process Habitat Mortgage Solutions vendor contracts procurement requests, reimbursement, and payments to Accounts Payable. Set up purchase orders and manage the flow of the payment process. General administrative support for Habitat Mortgage Solutions Managing Director and other senior leadership. Support special projects and initiatives as assigned related to lending, reporting, grants, operations, and technology solutions. Draft and monitor project plans and budgets. Loan and Program Administration (30%): Initiate regular team meetings in assigned areas and generate agenda to review status of portfolio, coding and compliance, scenario planning, work plans and budget. Plan, coordinate and manage meetings and events including calendaring, scheduling, logistics, travel and associated communication; manage all pre- and post-event activities to ensure well-coordinated and seamless execution; use technology effectively. Communication (25%): Ensuring smooth coordination and communication between the internal/cross-functional teams and departments well as external consultants. Assist Habitat Mortgage Solutions marketing team with communications such as print and electronic newsletters and campaigns, marketing materials and other information for internal and external audiences related to program activities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree. 3-6 years of experience in banking, housing or community development finance, real estate development, impact investing or relevant field. Financial services background with emphasis on marketing, business development, loan originations and client service. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook software, with experience generating clear, concise reports and presentations using this software. Strong organization and project management skills including the ability to anticipate workflow, handle multiple projects simultaneously, create/request clarity on multiple priorities, take initiative within a collegial work team and accomplish tasks under a deadline. Experience with procurement and payment processing. Strong analytical skills; ability to mine data from proposals/reports and show correlation to strategy. Experience handling highly confidential matters. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, as well as being a team player.
