(Honeywell), Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Jacobs), and HII Nuclear Inc. Responsibilities MSTS is seeking a Senior Technologist to support toolset development, training, and testing. This position is located at the Remote Sensing Laboratory, Nellis (RSLN) on Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. This technologist will assist in the testing, management, and execution of several software development projects in support of the Department of Energy's emergency response missions. Key Responsibilities + Guide project teams in implementing SCRUM and other agile methodologies. + Become an expert user of the software toolsets that we are developing. + Provide testing of the software toolset and identify areas for further refinement. + Train users on the use of the toolsets and associated tools. + Remove blockers or impediments that hinder project progress. + Foster a good relationship/communication between the team, product owner, and user base. + Set up and facilitate sprint planning. + Maintain the team's sprints, boards, and dashboards. + Coordinate backlogs across teams for cross functional projects/teams. + Identify and help correct day-to-day technical issues impacting the team. + Keep associated program managers and other key stakeholders well informed on a timely basis on team's progress, status and/or concerns to ensure that expectations are met or exceeded. + Partner with project managers to develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations. + Support/participate with and be a member of various emergency response teams with the potential of U.S. and worldwide travel. + Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed. + Perform related work as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications+ Associate degree in field related to the position plus at least 8 years' progressive related experience or High School diploma plus 10 years' progressive related experience. + Experience with Agile project management, SCRUM experience is preferred. + Ability to work independently or in a team environment on a wide variety of tasks is critical. + Successful candidates will demonstrate working knowledge of information technologies including a good understanding of the Windows operating system environment, security configurations as they impact software development, and general software and hardware troubleshooting techniques. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook is required. + The primary work location will be based at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV (RSL-N). + Work schedule for this position will be 4/10's, Monday - Thursday (subject to change). + Ability and willingness to support/participate with and be a member of various emergency response teams with the potential of U.S. and worldwide travel. + Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. + Must have a valid driver's license. MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 (http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=14b1c770db022992d237769fbe9fc519=true=se10.4.707\_14=div8) , "Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites," will be conducted. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required.
