Job Description:
Position Summary: Registered Nurse / LPNThe Licensed Practical
Nurse works in collaboration with the Clinical Team in the
developing, maintaining the client's treatment plan. Licensed
Practical Nurse are responsible for direct supervision care of the
clients, and are responsible for the planning and facilitation of
all clinical activities. Responsibilities:
- Assesses facility clients at least monthly and summarizes
findings quarterly. Prepares written quarterly reviews and annual
reports as required by Title XIX and other rules and
regulations.
- Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and
annual staffing to ensure continuity of care.
- Prepares infection control reports for presentation to Ignite's
specially constituted committee.
- Directs employees concerning the care of the facility clients
and equipment, and environmental, health and safety
conditions.
- Ensure that physicians' orders for facility clients are carried
out accurately and correctly.
- Review group homes clients' medical charts for accuracy and
completeness.
- Consults with Facility Supervisors regarding the health of the
facility's clients.
- Initiates policy and procedure relevant to all aspects of
treatment center nursing for approval by the Director of Nursing
and Medical Director, if necessary, and implements approved policy
procedure.
- Schedules, if necessary, and coordinates annual and as needed
medical examinations.
- Obtains necessary parent/guardian consents for medical
examination and treatments needed by group home clients.
- Ensure the completion of medical examinations as required by
Title XIX and other rules and regulations.
- Teaches medication administration to all facility staff and
monitors medication administration as necessary.
- Obtains necessary parent/guardian consents for medical
examinations and treatments of Ignite's clients.
- Administers annual tuberculosis testing and influenza
vaccinations to clients.
- Enforces state, federal, and Title XIX regulations in all areas
of nursing and residential living. Supervision: The Nurse will be
supervised by the Director of Nursing. Knowledge of:
- Clinical Department documentation requirements and chart
maintenance. --- Treatment of high-risk adolescents and
families.
- Basic Ignite Therapy rules, regulations, practices and
policies. Ability to:
- Establishes and promotes good community relations for Ignite's
by understanding that a nurse is expected to promote the leadership
of the organization to the staff, within the community, and when
attending organizational activities.
- Established standards for the economic use of utilities,
supplies and equipment.
- Attends all scheduled departmental staff meetings.
- Monitors and reports the behavior problems of individual
clients in accordance with Ignite's, state and federal
guidelines.
- Protects clients' rights and reports all cases of suspected
abuse and neglect according to procedures established by state Law
and Ignite Therapy.
- Ensure the provision of high quality nursing care for the
developmentally disable population.
- Completes a self-evaluation and identifies the areas in which
he/she can grow professionally and notes areas in which improvement
is needed.
- Develops and implements a professional growth plan.
- Responds to emergencies, disasters, and facility evacuations by
providing assistance, supervision, and leadership to clients and
staff at Ignite and at the evacuation sites.
- Follows all Ignite policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must be a board certified Licensed Practical Nurse with
a current license. SPECIAL NOTES
- Must possess a valid Nevada Drivers license.
- Must be willing to be available 24 hours a day (on-call).
- Applicant must be either a U.S. Citizen or have the legal right
to work in the United States.
