Job Description



The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholar, X-Ray and Synthesis-2, College of Science [R0133551].



ROLE of the POSITION



Qualified applicant will perform X-ray measurements on simplified photoelectrochemical devices, in addition to other characterization measurements. The X-ray studies are expected to include measurements at Free Electron Lasers at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory as well as around the world, and synchrotron measurements in the San Francisco bay area (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory).



The applicant will be expected to perform a variety of surfaced based measurements, including surface diffraction, X-ray absorption and X-ray nonlinear optics.



This position can be based either at the main campus of UNLV (Bigelow Physics Building) or remote at Berkeley, California (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory).



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



This position requires a Ph.D. from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). A degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or similar field is required.
