Job Description:
Responsible to ensure patient information and demographics are
entered quickly and correctly. Providing accurate and professional
telephone support for incoming calls from patients, medical
offices, and vendors. Experience dealing with insurances in a
medical setting is a plus. Responsibilities will include various
office administrative tasks such as document scanning, spreadsheet
entry, making reminder calls, answering busy multi-line phone
system, and managing clinic scheduling. Experience in medical
setting is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
Compensation based on qualifications and experience.
*Responsibilities and Duties* * Schedules, Reschedules, cancels,
and confirms appointments accurately. * Answer telephone promptly
and in a polite and professional manner * Obtain and enter accurate
demographic information into EMR system (name, address, telephone
number, insurance information, etc.). * Schedule appointment
correctly - review appointment date, time, location, and provider
name with caller. * Inform caller of items to bring to appointment
(including insurance card and form of ID). * Instruct caller of how
to complete new patient paperwork. * Answer questions and offer
other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service
and a positive impression of the organization. * Understanding of
when to escalate calls to supervisor. * Service patients * Make
reminder calls as requested. * Performs other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications and Skills* * Ability to handle confidential and
sensitive information. * Ability to multi-task and clear
communication with patients and staff is mandatory. * Must have
excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. *
Exceptional time management, organizational, verbal, written,
interpersonal, and active listening skills. * Ability to prioritize
issues and respond accordingly. * Ability to handle a "call center"
environment: work quickly and multi-task. * Ability to work
independently and as part of a team. * Ability to exercise good
judgment to handle calls appropriately. * Must be able to organize
and prioritize effectively and simultaneously. * Must possess good
communication skills, verbally and orally. * Ability to demonstrate
quality customer service. * Knowledge of modern office equipment
and procedures. Previous EMR experience preferred but not required.
