Job Description:

Unicity is seeking talented, motivated candidates to join our organization. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for assisting with procurement for the US market, as well as coordinating for items purchased on behalf of other markets. The Procurement Specialist will be expected work within the Operations Team to increase efficiencies and ensure that the supply chain is properly served by our vendors and suppliers.

    Primary responsibilities:
    • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal cost points for a wide range of purchases
    • Procure and manage the qualification process of raw materials, packaging components and other items as needed for contract manufacturers and various internal manufacturing facilities
    • Possess the ability to review and negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve fair and mutually beneficial terms
    • Act effectively as a liaison between our suppliers and our international operations teams to improve supply chain KPI's
    • Work closely with R&D, management and product managers to understand the details of various project and procurement requirements
    • Manage, improve and implement supply chain processes applicable to manufacturing in the US
    • Possess the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work in cross-functional international teams
    • Develop working relationships with all vendors and suppliers to facilitate and improve processes and communication
    • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot any potential problems in the supply chain that might affect cost, quality, or delivery times
    • Review, advise, and execute purchase orders based on various points of data
    • Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time, in-full delivery per the companies needs
    • Provide a communication channel from our international markets to the vendors and suppliers to ensure that we are meeting the customers' needs
    • Evaluate and develop new vendors and suppliers to improve redundancy and cost competitiveness while looking for opportunities to improve on cost and performance from existing vendors and suppliers
    • Coordinate with the Planning and Logistics teams to understand critical stock levels and delivery schedules of product to all markets
    • Provide procurement and information support to management and the manufacturing teams, as well as the Quality Regulatory and Research & Development departments
    • Interface with the Finance department to ensure proper reconciliation of supplier invoices and timely resolution of any questions

      Required Education & Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or other related fields
      • Three or more years in a procurement role

        Preferred Education and Experience:
        • Certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, CPP/CPPM, CPM, CPSM and or Six Sigma are a plus, as is other experience in supply chain roles
        • Procurement experience in the food manufacturing, health supplement, wholesale, or pharmaceutical industries is a plus
          Travel Required:
          • Domestic: Yes, up to 10%
          • International: As needed, up to 5% (candidates will need to be able to travel on a valid passport)
