POSITION OVERVIEWThe General Ledger Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting entries, preparation of financial statements in accordance with G.A.A.P, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements and support in the month-end close process
• Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgers
• Prepare report packages required internally and externally
• Maintain proper documentation and audit evidence is organized and accounted for within the department
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Adhere to deadlines, time constraints, and efficient request responses
• Ensure accounting records and practices adhere to G.A.A.P and company policies and remain standard across all business units
• Assist with financial statement review, discrepancies, and inquiry research with partnering departments to promote Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) success
• Create a work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, recognition, mutual respect, and Member satisfaction

  • Bachelor s degree in finance, business, or accounting or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Six (6) months prior experience in an accounting position, preferably for a large-scale, luxury resort
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze data and draw logical conclusions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
