Job Description:
POSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Hospitality Accountant is
responsible for leading Hospitality Accounting functions including
monthly end close, reconciliations, taxes, tasks, and journals.
This position will also review the daily Flash and DOR prior to
issuance as well as lead the month-end end closing process for the
Hospitality Accounting team in accordance with GAAP. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following and other duties may be
assigned as necessary:
- Support the Manager of Hospitality Accounting with implementing
and achieving department goals that support the overall property
strategic tactics
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual closing of the
general ledger
- Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts and underlying
financial reporting
- Work with General Ledger Accounting to post and reconcile
banking clearing accounts
- Review and enforce internal accounting controls and assurance
of compliance with SOX
- Review and support Casino and Hospitality Accountant(s) in the
preparation of journal entries, reconciliation, and tax
preparations
- Assist in the daily audit of the Hospitality & Casino revenue
departments, including reconciling, analyzing, recording, and
reviewing documents for proper completion
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns including NGC Gaming
Taxes, Entertainment Taxes, Sales Tax, and Room Taxes
- Monitor 1099 and W-2G activity on a weekly basis
- Identify opportunities within Hospitality Accounting and
proposes ideas to department leaders that will increase overall
productivity and profitability for the entire property
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and county
regulatory requirements including taxes, reporting, and compliance
with Minimum Internal Control Standards, Standards of Operation and
Management, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), and Bank Secrecy Act reporting
requirements
- Review monthly financial statements and compile review comments
for follow-up
- Prepare and review all internal daily and monthly financial
reports
- Facilitates external and internal audit and Gaming Control
Board as needed to complete regulatory and operational audits

Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a
related field and/or equivalent combination of education and
experience
- Minimum of two (2) years prior experience in casino accounting,
revenue audit, or internal audit
- Experience working for a large-scale resort and casino is
preferred
- Direct experience in GAAP financial statement preparation
required
- Experience in working with all levels of management, including
executives and consulting with various departments
- Experience pulling financial reports and utilizing them to make
recommendations and decisions based on financial data
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, innovative,
flexible, and task-oriented, and can work independently with
minimal direction
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish
priorities effectively
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft
Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment
- Ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze data and draw
logical conclusions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with internal and external
customers
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential
manner
