Apply Today!Statement of Purpose: This position has two primary responsibilities:Grant Support Specialist 1Grant Support Specialist 1:A. Serve as the primary support person for CAN Community Health Ryan White Contract Managers, providing real-time quality assurance audits and data entry support for eligibility determination, case management, dental, local pharmacy assistance, and other service categories.B. Provide activities to support grant outcomes including, but not limited to, outreach activities, testing, linkage services, follow-up contacts and other retention-to-care services.CAN Values: Grant Support Specialist 1Recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic worth of each individual.Treat all those we serve with compassion and kindness.Act with absolute honesty, integrity, and fairness in the way I conduct my business and the way I live my life.Trust my colleagues as valuable members of our healthcare team and pledge to treat one another with loyalty, respect, and dignity.Primary Tasks: Grant Support Specialist 1Promote patient enrollment into the CAN Community Health Ryan White clinic program by ensuring notice of eligibility verification and data input.Assist contract managers prepare and verify monthly invoices submitted to Ryan White Grantees for reimbursement to CAN; assure that other CAN staff receive invoice and supporting documentation, transmit the invoice, and account for invoice funds expended and received. Provide reports, invoices, and other documentation to the Ryan White program office.Compile programmatic encounter reports from eCW to assist contract managers in accurate billing of Ryan White services.Oversee and assure completion of quality assurance and quality improvement plans as directed by the Ryan White grant guidance. Perform quality assurance checks for data entry into Provide Enterprise or other Ryan White Information Management system.Participate in CAN's local Quality Management Committee.Participate in local HIV planning activities including the Ryan White Planning Council or Consortium and/or its subcommittees as directed.Provide grant related activity for care and prevention agreements, as assigned.Ensures confidentiality is maintained by Ryan White funded staff regarding patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and departmental standards.Secondary Tasks: Grant Support Specialist 1Cross train for effective client service and team participation.Practice safety, environmental and/or infection control methods.Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills of HIV/AIDS and patient care programs to continually improve client services.Utilize resources and supplies in a cost-effective manner.Maintain professional, respectful and courteous relationships with clients, staff and visitors.Perform all other duties as assigned.Promotes and practices CAN Community Health, Inc.'s mission and values, and follows its policies and proceduresProgram Knowledge Required: Grant Support Specialist 1Knowledge of Ryan White eligibility requirements, guidelines and manuals.Knowledge of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid eligibility and enrollment procedures.Familiarity with state and federal health and human service programs.Familiarity with confidentiality requirements for handling client information.Knowledge of contract management policies and practices.Education/Professional: Grant Support Specialist 1Bachelor's degree in social services from an accredited school or equivalent public health program experience.HIV prevention/intervention experience.Ryan White eligibility, operations and case management training.Basic Annual Safety Training, and Confidentiality Training.Competencies: Grant Support Specialist 1LeadershipStrategic Thinking/Problem SolvingResults DrivenCommunicationInterpersonal SkillsDecision MakingCustomer ServiceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Grant Support Specialist 1Ability to provide daily leadership for health care workers, to problem solve, be self-directed, work effectively and efficiently, be organized, pay attention to detail especially with respect to completing paperwork and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, audio visual, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical Requirements: Grant Support Specialist 1Neat, professional appearance.Sedentary- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly in lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.Requires expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, visual and auditory acuity.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Grant Support Specialist 1This position may require additional time above normal operating hours and on occasion weekend work.Travel: Grant Support Specialist 1Travel is primary during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
