ASTOUND's projects span over 40 countries and their clients are some of the most well-recognized brands across multiple industry sectors including consumer products, sports and entertainment, telecommunications, and technology.The CAD Technician is responsible for the development of detailed CAD drawings for the fabrication of displays, exhibits and other special projects. This position involves a variety of complex and independent duties centered on the creation and management of fabrication drawings in accordance with ASTOUND standards. This requires steady communication with other departments, team members and in some cases, outside vendors. As an integral part of the fabrication team, the CAD Technician may be asked to support conceptual design, fabrication processes (including CNC), and onsite installations.CAD TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIESFollow ASTOUND's detailed drawing guidelines pertaining to data storage location, naming conventions and drawing layout standards.Analyze and translate design deliverables into concise drawings and documents suitable for fabrication, specifying material, hardware, electrical/lighting specifications and building techniques in accordance with requirementsPrioritize workload to ensure on-time completion of jobsThe CAD Technician will work closely with the Project Managers and Production Manager to generate solutions taking the following criteria into consideration: Budget ; Timeline; Fabrication capabilities; Available materials/material utilization; Shipping methods; Set-up capabilitiesSupport Design Department during conceptual and developmental phases as requiredSupport Estimating and PM teams to develop cost estimates as requiredSupport Installation teams with visual documentation and set-up drawingsCommunicate frequently with project team members to update the job progress or make design changesParticipate in production and/or solution meetings as requiredMaintain up-to-date records of hours spent on each projectInspire your team and influence them to perform at their best each and every day; this will ultimately determine the success of the organization.Maintain a positive mindset, encourage teamwork, and act as an impeccable brand ambassador for ASTOUND.Other Duties as assigned.CAD TECHNICIAN DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 2 year degree in related field (preferred)Bachelor's or Certifications (preferred)2+ years experience utilizing CAD softwareMinimum 2 years working in a professional environmentAn abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the endAbility to think in a three-dimensional mannerComfortable with sitting for long periods of timeQuality and cost-consciousExcellent problem-solving skillsStrong team playerAbility to travel periodically both internationally and domesticallyPast experience with tradeshows and events is a plusEnthusiastic learner with superior creative, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skillsHas demonstrated consistent above average performance evaluations in previous rolesAbility to work in an environment characterized by constant change and tight deadlinesCoordination & Administrative Skills: Possesses a high degree of competence working with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and ExcelOrganizational and time management skills: Ability to set priorities and plan well in advance to meet multiple shifting deadlinesDetail Oriented - Keen attention to detail requiredCommunication and interpersonal skills: Able to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely oral and written communicationStrong team player with innovative ideas who can partner with others (internal and external) to achieve objectives as well as ability to work autonomouslyEvidence of continued growth through education, skills training, and professional developmentBENEFITS AND COMPENSATIONThe compensation package (base salary plus performance-related pay, based on sales) will be commensurate with experience.
