About The Role

The Technician is a vital role to Team Merlin to ensure that all the fun and magic is being delivered at optimal level. The ideal candidate has general "handyman" experience to perform routine maintenance duties including troubleshoot issues, repair failures of attraction and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This position is distinguished from Lead Facilities Maintenance in that the latter plans and organizes maintenance work, provides daily direction to maintenance staff in addition to performing the full range of maintenance duties.

Responsibilities:

• Reports to and works for Facility Manager and life support technician
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain attraction rides and equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair or replace control devices.
• Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
• Install and/or replace light bulbs, projector lamps, doors, etc.
• Complete "Preventative Maintenance" tasks (Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, etc).
• Repair and/or paint interior walls, hang pictures; assemble furniture.
• Set-up and install data cables as needed, install and repair computer outlets and computer bundles.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
• Observes safe working practices, including maintaining storage areas in a safe condition.
• Corrects or reports any safety or fire hazards.
• Able to set-up and operate various hand tools and power equipment.
• Performs related duties as required or assigned.
• ---Support will be needed in all departments; flexibility with all departments is a must
• Follows established schedules and procedures
• Ensures that attraction and maintenance areas are kept orderly
• Ensures that safety of the attraction is a high priority
• Responds to emergency maintenance calls to expedite repairs
• Complete safety checklists
• Perform other duties as assigned. About You
  
  QUALIFICATIONS
  
  Knowledge of:
  
  
  • Basic carpentry and relevant tools and equipment.
  • Computers and related networking systems.
  • Safety practices and equipment related to work.
  • Basic understanding of hand & power tools
  • Must be able to react quickly and appropriately under pressure in emergency situations and maintain professionalism at all times
  • Must demonstrate ability to follow directions to affect a positive outcome
  • Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of service in high-pressure and/or stressful situations.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
  • Desire to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events. Education:
