Sr. Sourcing & Procurement Consultant Sourcing & Procurement (IT) will execute based on the IT Category Management Plan and streamline the handling of, Hardware, Software, Licensing and Maintenance services across UnitedHealth Group entities, with a focus on commercial agreements.



In addition, the Sr. Sourcing Procurement Consultant, Sourcing & Procurement (IT) will deliver value to customers; communicate effectively; drive sound, disciplined decisions, and drive high-quality execution. - We are looking for a proven professional who is a self-starter with heavy contracting experience to successfully deliver on initiatives that will often have broad and meaningful impact on the business. -

-Primary Responsibilities: -


  • Develop and support technology strategies for Hardware, Software Licensing and Maintenance; manage supplier performance management programs; and execute sourcing and contracting processes
  • Execute negotiation strategies taking into consideration how changing hardware technology impacts and is impacted by software licensing terms; draft commercial agreements; benchmark rates, negotiate and execute contract terms and conditions (leveraging UnitedHealth Group's contract terms and internal subject matter experts, with an accountability to terms, risk mitigation/compliance and internal protocols), and overall pricing strategy; and ensure supplier compliance with contract terms and conditions and pricing
  • Execute strategic sourcing initiatives across one or more business segments, including, but not limited to, implementing change management strategies to support current supply chain, overall procurement programs and overall sourcing and contracting strategy; and drive strategic sourcing efficiency through implementation of best practices
  • Understand and analyze commodities and global sourcing and contracting strategies; and ensure alignment of enterprise sourcing and contracting efforts, enterprise supply chain strategies with major technology vendors, and applicable business owner/commodity area strategies in accordance with overall business and financial goals
  • Develop relationships with applicable stakeholders, including executive level individuals, across the enterprise to drive support of the sourcing and procurement value proposition, consistent, high-quality delivery of procurement programs, and sourcing and contracting initiatives
  • Evaluate supplier consolidation strategies, opportunities to leverage supplier spend (including, but not limited to, re-sourcing and re-negotiation of on-going supplier relationships), and cost savings opportunities; participate in vendor selection and competitive bidding strategy (e.g., RFPs, renegotiations, eSourcing) and leverage Ariba platform (Procure-to-Pay, Sourcing and Contracting) to drive process efficiencies and reduce costs; make appropriate recommendations; and execute and maintain the same

    Required Qualifications: -


    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of progressive experience in executing market-leading sourcing strategies, leading sourcing projects and /or working in cross-functional procurement team
    • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high demand multi-tasking environment
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles using facts, alternatives identification, open-mindedness, and thought-through strategy
    • Proven organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills
    • Demonstrated understanding of Network products and Software, Telephony, Network management & services, Software Licensing and Maintenance
    • Knowledge of the Ariba e-Procurement tool
    • Ability to concisely articulate positions and garner support quickly from various levels of business and procurement leadership
    • Proven analytical skills (effectively supports decisions on factual data and analysis) and problem solving skills
    • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point

      • Experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules (or similar procurement systems)

        California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
