We have a fantastic opportunity reputable steelwork contractor. They are currently looking for a Senior Structural steel Estimator with knowledge of the structural steel sectors. This position estimators with 4 years + experience in multi-story and steel buildings. They are based in San Francisco and would require and assist in relocation for the right candidate.
Job Title: Estimator - Structural Steel estimator
Salary: $110,000-$140,000
Function - Design, Fabrication, and Installation of Structural Steel.
Relocation Package available

We have a fantastic opportunity reputable steelwork contractor. They are currently looking for a Senior Structural steel Estimator with knowledge of the structural steel sectors. This position estimators with 4 years + experience in multi story and steel buildings. They are based in San Francisco and would require and assist in relocation for the right candidate.
Key Performance Objectives

• 
  
• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation presented by the client, to accurately prepare and estimate projects.
  
• Collaborate with others on how we want to build the job in fabrication and erection.
  
• Prepare detail-oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and estimate prices for any change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
  
• Prepare "Take Offs" of steel materials, estimate all necessary shop labor and field erection, estimate materials, buyout items and equipment cost etc. to prepare a thorough bid estimate.
  
• Type up all estimates in our in-house computer program, enter takeoffs, draw numbers etc.
  
• Read and interpret job bid instructions, and detailed specifications, prepare a "take off" of materials included in the job, and estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs (including crane costs) to prepare a thorough price estimate.
  
• Work directly with Sales and Pre-construction Teams to understand the size and scope of projects along with timelines and applicable project deadlines.
  
• Adhere to and follow the Schuff estimating guidelines and procedures.
  
• Be comfortable discussing alternative recommendations on projects in which management requires alternative estimates to meet client needs.
  
• Prepare pricing estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts and summarize results with appropriate leaders to ensure all aspects of the job.
  
  Education/Training
  High school diploma or equivalent with structural drawing or drafting coursework. Vocation or another secondary education program.
  Work Experience
  Five years of progressively responsible experience estimating structural steel construction projects. Prior experience in detailing and drafting is also preferred.
  Specialized Knowledge
  
  • 
    
  • Customary construction terminology and knowledge estimating software packages.
    
  • Basic understanding of detailing procedures and building structures.
    
  • Basic understanding of modelling concepts.
    
  • Must have great attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
