We are looking for an experienced Inventory manager. This key
member of the local management team will be responsible for
supervising and directing the activities of workers involved with
ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping
materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom and
the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Continually seeks new ways to improve efficiency, quality, and cost
control
Works in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager to develop the
company's inventory management strategy with the goal of
controlling costs within budgetary limits
Responsible for managing inventory & quality control areas in a
safe and organized manner
Ensures product is well organized and controlled to sufficiently
support production and the goals of the business
Ensures product is ready and available for production when
required
Performs cyclic stock checks
Interviews, hires, trains, and appraises performance of inventory
control employees
Advises employees on the care and preservation of items received,
stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling,
storing, maintaining, and shipping stock and related problems
Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and
discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
Achieves a minimum of 95% inventory record accuracy
Ensures inventory accuracy and optimal utilization of warehouse
space
Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported
non-usable, slow moving, and excess/obsolete stock
Ensures inventory software system is up-to-date
Maintains highest standard of customer service skills & exemplary
compliance
Reports to manager, sales, etc. The inventory accuracy percentage
per requirement
Schedules work for special and periodic inventories
Manages staff including maintaining proper staffing levels,
planning and coordinating work, training and motivating employees,
evaluating performance, coaching and disciplining employees in
accordance with company procedures
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
4 year degree preferred
Experience managing inventory with thousands of SKUs
Must be able to train and coach staff on a regular basis
Must be organized, detail oriented and team driven
Must be flexible and adaptable to constant change
Able to read & write in English
Computer skills to include email & Microsoft office (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint)
Able to comprehend & manage effective labor cost control
Physical ability to lift, move and/or carry minimum of 75 lbs.
Exemplary supervisory skills
Able to deal with competing priorities in a fast paced
environment
Effective written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills
Team cooperation: maintain positive and cooperative attitude with
all employees
